The recently measured {gamma}*{gamma}*{yields}{pi}{sup 0} anomalous form factor is analyzed using the D4/D8D8 holographic approach to QCD. The half-on-shell transition form factor is vector meson dominated and is shown to exactly tie to the charged-pion form factor. The holographic result compares well with the data for the lowest vector resonance.

Holographic Derivation of Entanglement Entropy from the anti-de Sitter Space/Conformal Field Theory Correspondence

A holographic derivation of the entanglement entropy in quantum (conformal) field theories is proposed from anti-de Sitter/conformal field theory (AdS/CFT) correspondence. We argue that the entanglement entropy in d+1 dimensional conformal field theories can be obtained from the area of d dimensional minimal surfaces in AdS{sub d+2}, analogous to the Bekenstein-Hawking formula for black hole entropy. We show that our proposal agrees perfectly with the entanglement entropy in 2D CFT when applied to AdS{sub 3}. We also compare the entropy computed in AdS{sub 5}xS{sup 5} with that of the free N=4 super Yang-Mills theory.

We study the Eguchi-Kawai reduction in the strong-coupling domain of gauge theories via the gravity dual of N=4 super-Yang-Mills on R{sup 3}xS{sup 1}. We show that D-branes geometrize volume independence in the center-symmetric vacuum and give supergravity predictions for the range of validity of reduced large-N models at strong coupling.

Di-Jet Conical Correlations Associated with Heavy Quark Jets in anti-de Sitter Space/Conformal Field Theory Correspondence

We show that far zone Mach and diffusion wake 'holograms' produced by supersonic strings in anti-de Sitter space/conformal field theory (AdS/CFT) correspondence do not lead to observable conical angular correlations in the strict N{sub c}{yields}{infinity} supergravity limit if Cooper-Frye hadronization is assumed. However, a special nonequilibrium 'neck' zone near the jet is shown to produce an apparent sonic boom azimuthal angle distribution that is roughly independent of the heavy quark's velocity.
