We investigate the scaling properties in inclusive hadron production and the associated single transverse spin asymmetry in the forward rapidity region at RHIC. We find that the spin-averaged experimental data in both pp and dAu collisions demonstrates a transverse-momentum-dependent geometric scaling. We introduce the transverse-momentum-dependent Collins fragmentation function to study the scaling of the single transverse spin asymmetries. The general feature of the scaling analysis is consistent with the experimental observations, in particular, for the transverse momentum dependence of the spin asymmetries at RHIC energy. Longitudinal Double Spin Asymmetry in Inclusive {pi}0 Production at Forward Rapidities in {radical}s=62.4 GeV Polarized p+p Collisions at RHIC

The gluons' Gluons spin contribution to proton spin is an important the key aspect for understanding the proton spin structure. It can be probed by the double helicity asymmetry of {pi}0 production in polarized p+p collisions. During the longitudinally polarized proton run in 2006 PHENIX collected substantial data at {radical}s=62.4 GeV and {radical}s=200 GeV. In 2006 PHENIX commissioned a new electromagnetic calorimeter, the Muon Piston Calorimeter (MPC), located in the forward rapidity rapidities region. This calorimeter allows to significantly improves the PHENIX acceptance. In this report the MPC feasibility of the MPC for longitudinal double spin asymmetry studies is discussed.

Measurement of the cross section and the single transverse spin asymmetry of forward neutrons from pp collisions at RHIC-PHENIX

A large single transverse spin asymmetry of forward neutron production in polarized pp collision was discovered at RHIC-IP12 experiment. The origin of its asymmetry is very interesting question. More precise forward neutron measurement in PHENIX will be first time to discuss the polarized phenomenon of neutron production. Results of the cross section and single transverse spin asymmetry of forward neutron production at {radical}(s)=200 GeV are presented. It may prefer the one pion exchange model which is successful to explain the forward neutron cross section.

Single spin asymmetry in forward $p A$ collisions: Phenomenology at RHIC

We confront the theoretical result of single spin asymmetry (SSA) A_N in forward pA collisions p↑A → hX including the gluon saturation effect with the recent preliminary experimental data from the PHENIX and STAR collaborations at RHIC. While we find overall reasonable agreement with the STAR data, our results indicate that the strong nuclear suppression of the asymmetry A_N ~ A^–1/3 observed by the PHENIX collaboration cannot be explained within the present understanding of this problem.
