It has become clearer recently that the regular pattern of three flavor nonets describing the low spin meson multiplets seems to require some modification for the case of the spin 0 scalar mesons. One picture, which has had some success, treats the scalars in a chiral Lagrangian framework and considers them to populate two nonets. Flavor symmetries and the topology of special Kähler structures at rank 1

We propose a method for determining the flavor charge lattice of the continuous flavor symmetry of rank-1 4d \( \mathcal{N} \) = 2 superconformal field theories (SCFTs) and IR free gauge theories from topological invariants of the special Kahler structure of the mass-deformed Coulomb branches (CBs) of the theories. The method is based on the middle homology of the total space of the elliptic fibration over the CB, and is a generalization of the F-theory string web description of flavor charge lattices. Bosonic color-flavor transformation for the special unitary group

We extend Zirnbauer's color-flavor transformation in the bosonic sector to the color group SU(N{sub c}). Because the flavor group U(N{sub b},N{sub b}) is noncompact, the algebraic method by which the original color-flavor transformation was derived leads to a useful result only for 2N{sub b}{<=}N{sub c}. Using the character expansion method, we obtain a different form of the transformation in the extended range N{sub b}{<=}N{sub c}. This result can also be used for the color group U(N{sub c}). The integrals to which the transformation can be applied are of relevance for the recently proposed boson-induced lattice gauge theory.

Three flavor neutrino oscillations in matter: Flavor diagonal potentials, the adiabatic basis, and the CP phase

We discuss the three neutrino flavor evolution problem with general, flavor-diagonal, matter potentials and a fully parametrized mixing matrix that includes CP violation, and derive expressions for the eigenvalues, mixing angles, and phases. We demonstrate that, in the limit that the mu and tau potentials are equal, the eigenvalues and matter mixing angles {theta}-tilde{sub 12} and {theta}-tilde{sub 13} are independent of the CP phase, although {theta}-tilde{sub 23} does have CP dependence. Enforced neutrality and color-flavor unlocking in the three-flavor Polyakov-loop Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model

We study how the charge neutrality affects the phase structure of the three-flavor Polyakov-loop Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (PNJL) model. We point out that, within the conventional PNJL model at finite density, the color neutrality is missing because the Wilson line serves as an external colored field coupled to dynamical quarks. In this paper we heuristically assume that the model may still be applicable. To get color neutrality, one has then to allow nonvanishing color chemical potentials.
