This paper presents reaction cross-section predictions. These predictions are the result of a continuous pipeline that originates from a microscopic nuclear interaction. Density parameters and effective nucleon-nucleon cross sections (both involved in the reaction calculations) are by-products of the same equation of state. First, we perform tests of sensitivity to medium effects using reactions involving {sup 208}Pb, a stable but weakly isospin-asymmetric nucleus. We also show predictions for collisions of some neutron-rich isotopes of calcium and argon. Total inclusive neutron cross sections and multiplicities in nucleus-nucleus collisions at intermediate energies

The total integrated inclusive cross section, sigma(T>T/sub 0/), for the emission of neutrons above an energy T/sub 0/ by neon ions with an average energy of 337 MeV per nucleon reacting in targets of uranium, copper, aluminum, and carbon is described by sigma-bar/sub NN/(R-bar/sub G//r/sub o/)/sup( alphaT/o). Here sigma-bar/sub NN/ is the isospin-averaged nucleon-nucleon cross section evaluated at an energy equal to the bombarding energy per nucleon, and R-bar/sub G/ is the arithmetic mean value of the radii of the projectile and the target measured in units of the radius parameter r/sub 0/ ( = 1.2 fm). Proton-nucleus total cross sections in the intermediate energy range

Proton-nucleus total and reaction cross sections are computed for a number of target nuclei at energies ranging from 100 to 2200 MeV using the Kerman, McManus, and Thaler optical potential formalism and the impulse approximation. Corrections due to Pauli, short-range dynamical, and center-of-mass correlations are included in the calculations. In addition, the electric form factor of the neutron and the nucleon magnetic moments are included in deriving the necessary proton densities from available empirical charge distributions. Nucleon-nucleon cross sections in neutron-rich matter and isospin transport in heavy-ion reactions at intermediate energies

Nucleon-nucleon (NN) cross sections are evaluated in neutron-rich matter using a scaling model according to density, momentum, and isospin dependent nucleon effective masses. It is found that the in-medium NN cross sections are not only reduced but also have a different isospin dependence compared with the free-space ones. Because of the neutron-proton effective mass splitting the difference between nn and pp scattering cross sections increases with the increasing isospin asymmetry of the medium. Reaction and total cross sections for {pi}{sup +} and {pi}{sup {minus}} on targets of {sup 2}H, {sup 6}Li, C, Al, Si, S, and Ca have been measured for beam energies from 42 to 65 MeV. The cross sections are proportional to the target mass at 50 MeV, consistent with transparency to these projectiles.
