The positive-parity yrast states in the {sup 89}Rb, {sup 92}Y, and {sup 93}Y nuclei were studied using {gamma}-ray spectroscopy with heavy-ion induced reactions. In the multinucleon transfer reactions {sup 208}Pb+{sup 90}Zr (590 MeV) and {sup 238}U+{sup 82}Se (505 MeV), several {gamma}-ray transitions were identified in these nuclei by means of coincidences between recoiling ions identified with the PRISMA spectrometer and {gamma} rays detected with the CLARA {gamma}-ray array in thin target experiments. Level structure of the neutron-rich {sup 56,58,60}Cr isotopes: Single-particle and collective aspects

The structure of the {sup 56,58,60}Cr nuclei was investigated at Gammasphere using both deep inelastic and fusion-evaporation reactions. As a result of this work, expanded level schemes are now available for these three neutron-rich, even-even isotopes. Experimental signatures were found for both single-particle and collective excitations whose relative importance varies with neutron number. Together with recent structural information on the odd-A {sup 55,57,59}Cr neighbors, the present data highlight the changing role of the g{sub 9/2} orbital with neutron number. Comparisons with shell-model calculations using the recently developed GXPF1A interaction and with total Routhian surface calculations are presented.

Long-lived isomeric states and quasiparticle band structures in neutron-rich ^162,164Gd nuclei from β decay

Neutron-rich nuclei ^162,164Eu were produced by bombarding a proton beam on a²³⁸U target at the Holifield Radioactive Ion Beam Facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and mass separating the ^162,164Eu products. New level schemes and new γ-ray transitions of the daughters ^162,164Gd were identified from β-decay spectroscopy studies. Additionally, half-lives of the ^162,164Eu were remeasured to clarify the previous ambiguous results. Two quasiparticle band structures were built and compared with neighboring nuclei.
