The Next Generation Photoinjector (NGP) developed by the BNL SLAC / UCLA collaboration was installed at the Brookhaven National Laboratories Accelerator Test Facility (ATF). The commissioning results and performance of the photocathode injector are present. OPTIMIZATION STUDIES FOR THE ADVANCED PHOTOINJECTOR EXPERIMENT (APEX)

The Advanced Photoinjector Experiment (APEX) seeks to validate the design of a proposed high-brightness, normal conducting RF photoinjector gun and bunching cavity feeding a superconducting RF linac to produce nC-scale electron bunches with sub-micron normalized emittances at MHz-scale repetition rates. The beamline design seeks to optimize the slice averaged 6D brightness of the beam prior to injection into a high gradient linac for further manipulation and delivery to an FEL undulator. Details of the proposed beamline layout and electron beam dynamics studies are presented.

A dedicated powder diffraction beamline at the Advanced Photon Source: Commissioning and early operational results

A new dedicated high-resolution high-throughput powder diffraction beamline has been built, fully commissioned, and opened to general users at the Advanced Photon Source. The optical design and commissioning results are presented. Beamline performance was examined using a mixture of the NIST Si and Al{sub 2}O{sub 3} standard reference materials, as well as the LaB6 line-shape standard. Instrumental resolution as high as 1.7x10{sup -4} ({delta}Q/Q) was observed.

The LBL Advanced Light Source (ALS) transverse coupled-bunch feedback system: Recent commissioning results

The ALS transverse coupled-bunch feedback system is described along with some recent commissioning results. Results presented include transfer function measurements, demonstrations of multi-bunch damping, and demonstrations of simultaneous transverse and longitudinal systems operation.
