NCAR 51 Conference Registration

Early Registration

Registrations received before Aug. 29, 1997, will be $400 and will cover all conference activities excluding the companion program. There will be additional charges for participants in that program.

Late Registration

Registrations received after Aug. 29, 1997, will be $450. This fee applies to attendees who have preregistered, but have not prepaid, as well as those registering at the door.

Methods of Payment

Payment must accompany registration and may be made with a major credit card, personal/company check, or money order; receipts will be provided at check-in.

Conference Check-In

Conference check-in will be from 2:00 to 7:30 p.m. at ORAU's Pollard Auditorium on Sunday, Sept. 21.

Attendee Substitutions

NCAR 51 attendee substitutions may be made prior to the conference, provided that the substituting attendee completes the required registration form and payment has been received.

Cancellations/Refunds

Refunds will be honored prior to Aug. 29, less a $25 processing fee. A letter requesting the refund should be mailed to the attention of Debbie Boone, ORAU, and must include the registrant's name and to whom the check should be made payable. No refunds will be honored after Aug. 29. Refunds will be processed four to six weeks after the conference. No refunds will be made for no-shows that are prepaid; all other no-shows will be invoiced.

NCAR invitations are extended to individuals across the four sectors on the basis of experience and accomplishment in the management and direction of R&D as well as their potential for contributing to conference discussions. Travel Planning

• Airline Transportation
  For those planning to travel by air, arrival will be at the Knoxville McGhee Tyson Airport.
  
• Airport Ground Transportation
  The Airport Express Shuttle is located outside the airport's baggage claim area. The cost for transport to Oak Ridge is $20; call 423-522-8108 from the airport for pickup.
  
  Taxi services (fare is approximately $30 to Oak Ridge) and major automobile rental agencies such as Avis, Budget, Hertz, and Thrifty are located in the baggage claim area.
  
  For return shuttle service from the Garden Plaza Hotel to the airport, contact Executive Sedans and Limousines at 423-671-2509.
  
• Directions to Oak Ridge
  From McGhee Tyson Airport, take Highway 129 North toward Knoxville. Exit right to Highway 162 going north toward Oak Ridge. Highway 162 will dead-end into Pellissippi Parkway; turn left and continue on the parkway. Pellissippi Parkway becomes Highway 62 West; stay on Highway 62 and follow signs into Oak Ridge, Highway 62 becomes Illinois Avenue.
  
  The Garden Plaza Hotel, Hampton Inn, and Ramada Inn are all located on Illinois Avenue. The Comfort Inn, located on S. Rutgers Avenue, faces Illinois Avenue.
