Description/Abstract:This report is the result of a 13-month study to determine the concentration of minerals that are present in geothermal brines. Sixty-six samples were collected from geothermal areas, and each sample was analyzed for 34 to 39 individual constituents. Nearly 860 analyses from about 420 geothermal sources in the Western United States were incorporated into a computerized storage and retrieval system. These data can be selectively retrieved according to any specified combination of parameters in order to expedite calculations or other data handling required for development and evaluation of mineral recovery procedures.
