Description/Abstract:Extensive research was conducted in the field of cavitation erosion. Data has been gathered concerning the cause, prevention, control and damage resulting from this cavitation phenomena. Resulting from this research has been: 1) an understanding of the damaging effects of cavitation erosion and 2) an understanding of the conditions necessary to develop and control cavitation. From this understanding of the development and control of cavitation erosion DAI has developed a high pressure water jet system (CONCAVER) utilizing the phenomena of controlled cavitation erosion as a working tool for cleaning and cutting applications.
