Jessica A. Grono, a Hotel and Restaurant Management Major, currently serves as the Vice
President of Membership Recruitment and Development for the Student Program Board
(SPB). In this role, she is responsible for recruiting new members for the SPB committee
system and assist with developing committee chairs as leaders academically, professionally
and personally. She feels that in order for students to truly want to be involved with SPB,
they will need to see more SPB involvement in the UH community. To begin to achieve that
this year, each one of the SPB chairs is a member of one on campus committee, volunteering
with UH Housing as a "Cougar Mover", and helping new students find their way around
campus as part of Cougar First Impressions."
Jessica has yet to complete what she would call her biggest accomplishment, but shared that
her most rewarding achievement as a student leader was planning this year's SPB summer
retreat. As a result, SPB has become cohesive team, who are super excited and ready to start
planning the better events, which is the board's goal each year.
