Marcus Maroney won first prize in the inaugural
College Orchestra Director's Association (CODA)
Composition Competition. Maroney's orchestral
work, The Ever-Fixed Mark, was selected from
over 140 international entries to be performed in an
anonymous finalists' concert at Baylor
University. The piece will be featured at CODA's 2010
NationalConferenceinAtlantainFebruary andwill be
performed by over 25 CODA-member orchestras
from around the country.
An alumna, Barbara Padilla ('04 MM in Vocal
Performance), has advanced to the finals in NBC's
America's Got Talent! She has the opportunity to win
a $1 million prize and a show in Las Vegas. She needs
