DATE OF APPOINTMENT August 2012
RANK AND SALARY Assistant Professor, full-time, tenure track. Salary commensurate with
credentials, experience, and reputation.
QUALIFICATIONS Doctorate in music education; three years of successful teaching in the
public schools; research activity that will qualify for graduate faculty
status; the vision, energy, and skills to help lead a nationally
recognized program in music education. Experience with jazz
education, technology, and the ability to teach methods classes in
brass, woodwinds, and/or percussion is highly desirable.
RESPONSIBILITIES · Undergraduate and graduate courses in instrumental (band)
music education
· Supervision of Field Experiences
· Assist with education graduate programs in appropriate areas of
expertise, serving on graduate committees
· Recruit, advise students
· Productive career as a research scholar
