Summary: Mary Alice Conroy, Ph.D., ABPP is a Professor and
Director of Clinical Training for the Sam Houston
State University Clinical Psychology Doctoral Pro-
gram a program with strong forensic emphasis.
Under her supervision, the SHSU Psychological Ser-
vices Center provides forensic evaluations of both
adults and juveniles for 17 counties. Prior to joining
the SHSU faculty in 1997, she spent 20 years
providing and supervising forensic services for the
U. S. Bureau of Prisons. As Past President of the
American Academy of Forensic Psychology she
holds a Diplomate in Forensic Psychology and is an
examiner for the American Board of Forensic Psy-
chology. She remains active in providing forensic
evaluation services for the courts. She has published
specifically in the area of risk assessment, including
two books in the past 5 years.
