Reza Akhtar was born on January 4, 1973, in Vancouver, Canada. He received an A.B.
degree magna cum laude in Mathematics and an S.M. degree in Applied Mathematics
from Harvard University in 1995. He came to Brown University in the Fall of 1995, and
received an Sc.M. degree in Mathematics in 1997. While at Brown, he has been supported
