Summary: News & Notes
David Ashley White's Amarillo Canticles (Magnificat
& Nunc dimittis) was performed at the Royal School of
Church Music's Chester Area Festival, held in Ches-
ter Cathedral, Chester, England, on October 31. Scored
for mixed chorus and organ, the work was sung by
a choir of approximately 400 people. On Novem-
ber 8, the same work was sung by the St. Paul's Choir,
St. Paul's United Methodist Church, during Evensong.
Henry Darragh's (studio of Noe Marmolejo)
debut CD, "Tell Her For Me," release party and per-
formance will be on Saturday, November 14, at Ova-
tions Night Club in Rice Village at 8 pm. MSM
performers include tenor saxophonist Seth Payn-
ter (BM `95 from the studio of Jeffrey Lerner),
guitar/bassist Erin Wright (former MSM student from
studio of Robert Nelson), bassist Glen Ackerman (un-
dergraduate from the studios of Robert Nelson and David
Klingensmith). Other members include Carol Morgan and
Chuck Payne.
