Summer Before Freshman Year
--Consider what you want to get out of your college education
--Make a schedule for your freshman year: include when you will be in class, time for
studying, time for working, and time for extra-curricular activities
Freshman Year
--Get to know your Human Situation instructor and the other faculty members teaching
your classes; make use of office hours
--Readjust your schedule if you are finding you are spending too much time working or
participating in extra-curricular activities; MAKE STUDYING A PRIORITY
--Talk to your advisors about the opportunity to study abroad or conduct a summer
research project or internship
--Join Honors, UH, and major-related organizations
Summer Before Sophomore Year
--Participate in a study abroad program, internship, volunteer endeavor or summer
research project
--Find out more about available minors, such as Medicine and Society, Phronesis and
Center for Creative Work
