Energy Research at the University of Regina

Summary: Energy Research
at the University of Regina
The University of Regina has long understood that
applied research is a driving force behind sustainable
societal and economic development. Additionally,
there was recognition that the availability of energy
is fundamental to that growth. For these reasons, the
University made energy (as a part of energy and
environment) one of its thematic research areas in 2000.
The University of Regina is a world leader in
developing climate change solutions, green energy
technologies and promoting sustainable communities. In
our energy research, we specialize in solutions focused
on carbon capture and storage, enhanced oil recovery,
risk assessment of geological storage of CO2
, and
energy-related policy options. Through the International
Test Centre for CO2
Capture, the University of Regina
researchers have developed CO2
