Course outline. This semester, we will cover Chapters 26 of Technical Calculus (5th edition, Pearson
Prentice Hall, 2005) by D. Ewen, J. S. Gary, and J. E. Trefzger, roughly by the following schedule:
Chapter 2: The Derivative 4 weeks
Chapter 3: Applications of the Derivative 3 weeks
Chapter 4: Derivatives of Transcendental Functions 2 weeks
Chapter 5: The Integral 2 weeks
Chapter 6: Applications of Integration 3 weeks
Homework. Homework assignments will be due approximately once a week. I will be using the WeBWorK
system for online submission and grading of homework. Feel free to work together with other students on
the homework. WeBWorK is accessible from the course website (see below)let me know immediately if
you have trouble logging into or using the system.
