Summary: Wireless Communication Systems Laboratory #8
Wireless Channel
Objective
The objective of this experiment is to observe the effect of the channel on the system performance
using realistic signaling techniques. The students will be familiar with the following items:
a. Performance evaluation in realistic multipath channel and comparison with direct cable
connection.
b. Radio Channel Impulse Response (CIR) estimation using sounding technique.
c. Multipath and fading channel as well as the effect of the channel on the system and transceiver
design.
d. Multipath profile as well as path loss.
e. Communication with LOS and NLOS.
f. Doppler spectrum.
g. Wideband and narrowband channel (Frequency selectivity)
h. Reverberation Chamber
i. Effect of environment in the received waveforms
Prelab
· Review the path loss, shadowing, and fading effects.
