Abstract. Quantum determinantal ideals in coordinate algebras of quantum m*

investigated. The ideal Itgenerated by all (t + 1) x (t + 1) quantum minor*

is shown to be a completely prime ideal, that is, Oq(Mm,n(k))=It is an int*
*egral domain.
The corresponding result is then obtained for the multiparameter quantum m*
