Textbooks : Always bring them to section. There will be a lot of group work,
and you will need to reference them.
Quizzes : There will be about 5 unannounced quizzes at the beginning of
section. The goal of the quizzes is to 1. make sure you are learning the material,
and 2. to give you feedback on your free response writing to better prepare you for
the test. Here are three possible areas from which I might pull your quiz questions:
"Type questions" that demonstrate a specific method you must know for
the test. These will be straightforward questions usually from section the
week before or the previous 2 weeks of lecture.
There will be two weeks during the quarter when section is cancelled for a
holiday, and we will not be able to go over all of that material as thoroughly,
