Climate Change Research at the University of Regina

Summary: Climate Change Research
at the University of Regina
The University of Regina is a world leader in developing climate change solutions
and green energy technologies, and in promoting sustainable communities through
research and education. In our climate change-related research, we specialize in
solutions focused on adaptations to climate change, application of climate modeling
and scenarios, carbon capture and storage, risk assessment of geological storage of
CO2, and sustainable resource management.
The University applies research expertise to address the impacts and adaptation
challenges and opportunities in agriculture, forestry, energy, water resources, and
community infrastructure, including the development of internationally commercialized
technologies for carbon capture and storage. To complement this strong focus on climate change,
the research of our Canada Research Chairs significantly advances our commitment to proactively
contribute to a greener future for Saskatchewan and the world.
For these reasons, the University established Energy and Environment as one of its thematic areas
in 2000.
The University of Regina has become a world-renowned
centre for leading and innovative research initiatives in
the area of climate change, including:
