Summary: Registering for your New Student Conference
To register for your New Student Conference (either New Student Orientation for Freshmen or Advising and
Registration for Transfer Students), you must first complete the Math Placement requirement. Unless you are
transferring college level math credit, you are required to take the Math Placement Exam. To take the exam, you
will need to create an account within the CASA website. Visit http://online.math.uh.edu/MathPlacement/ and
follow the instructions provided. You will have to wait 24 hours between the time you take the exam and when
the scores are reported before you can register for a conference.
Once you have satisfied your Math Placement requirement, complete the following steps to register for a New
Student Conference:
1. Login to your myUH account using the User ID and Password you established.
2. Once you've logged into the portal, click on Student Admission link in the Student Services navigation
block (see the red arrow in the image on the next page for guidance).
3. Once the student has selected the Student Admissions link, they will be directed to the Learner Services
main menu. Then locate and click on the New Student Conferences link under the Student Admission
section of the Learner Services main menu (see the red arrow in the image below for guidance).
4. Once students click the New Student Conferences link they will be directed to a registration page which
will automatically load the dates that are available to them based on their admit type. Students will select
the conference date that best works for them and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the New
Student Conference registration process.
