Summary: The University of Houston Woman's Association is accepting scholarship
applications for the 2012/2013
academic year. Two $1,000 scholarships are available: the Mary Harding Hoffman
scholarship for children or grandchildren of current or retired UH staff and
faculty; and the Ella Margaret Hawes Women in Transition scholarship for women
embarking on a change in their careers. All applicants must be accepted as full-
time students at the UH main campus.
The Mary Harding Hoffman scholarship for children of UH employees will be
awarded to a current or entering UH graduate or undergraduate student. The
scholarship is awarded based on scholarship, with leadership as a secondary
consideration. There is no financial disclosure.
The Ella Margaret Hawes Women in Transition scholarship is open to any faculty
or professional staff woman on campus who is pursuing a career change, and is
enrolled in a university-degree program. This scholarship is based on merit,
motivation and need.
Applications are only available at the M.D. Anderson Library Administration
Office, room 220, on the UH main campus during normal business hours. They
must be sent and postmarked by April 30, 2012 to Joan Linsley to the address on
the application form. For further information, contact Joan Linsley at 713-661-
