Geology Department - Assistant Professor (Tenure-track)
The Department of Geology invites applications for a tenure-track position starting
January 1, 2012 or July 1, 2012. We are seeking a Sedimentologist with expertise
in siliciclastic rocks and its application to hydrocarbon deposits. The Department
of Geology is a small, dynamic unit that is widely recognized for excellence in
providing well rounded, applied undergraduate and graduate programs,
incorporating field-work and subsurface geology. The successful applicant will
have broad experience in all sub-disciplines of geology and be comfortable
teaching a variety of courses from introductory to advanced levels of our
undergraduate degree program. The successful candidate is also expected to
develop an externally funded research program and teach related graduate-level
courses.
Over the years, the Department has fostered an excellent relationship with industry
and various government agencies resulting in collaborative research projects. The
successful candidate will be expected to continue that tradition.
