Introduction
Dalhousie University has a defined benefit (DB) plan
The financial markets continue to underperform, interest rates
are being kept artificially low by governments and therefore are
putting stress on all DB plans
University administration is asking its employee groups and
pensioners to work together to achieve a sustainable plan
