Abstract
A multigrid method for computing steady solutions of the compressible Navier­
Stokes equations is described. The convection part of the equations is approximated
by a simple low order upwind­biased scheme employed for multigrid relaxation in com­
bination with a higher order Essentially Non­Oscillatory (ENO) scheme used to supply
a defect correction to the right­hand­side of the discrete equations on the locally finest
multigrid levels in a way ensuring the overall high accuracy of the solution. A damping
technique is employed to stabilize and accelerate the defect­correction process.
