Abstract
We provide technical details about the soft-
ware and hardware architecture of SETA, a
prototype toolkit for the creation of Web stores
which personalize the interaction with cus-
tomers. SETA is based on a multi-agent ar-
chitecture and on the use of MAS technolo-
gies, which support a seamless communication
among the system agents and an easy distribu-
tion of such agents on different computers.
1 Introduction
Personalization has recently become a central focus of
attention for Web-based systems [Riecken, 2000]. This
