Anna Karlin
Joins Faculty
Anna Karlin joined the faculty as a Visit-
ing Associate Professor for two years
beginning September 1994. Karlin re-
ceived her PhD from Stanford University
in 1987. She spent a one year postdoc at
Princeton in 1987-88 before moving in
1988 to the Systems Research Center of
Digital Equipment Corporation in Palo
Alto, California, where she was a re-
search scientist until autumn 1994.
At the urging of our department Karlin
applied for, and was awarded, an NSF
Visiting Professorship for Women. For
