ON THE SELF-SIMILAR ZERO-VISCOSITY LIMIT FOR A
BOUNDARY RIEMANN PROBLEM

Abstract. We consider the self-similar, time dependent approximation of an
initial-boundary value problem with Riemann data. We furnish a complete
description of the boundary Riemann solver induced in the limit and we com-
pare it with the boundary Riemann solver induced by the classical vanishing
viscosity approximation.
