Dr. Adam Healey Senior Manager,

Summary: Dr. Adam Healey
Senior Manager,
- Alumnus of the School of Chemistry
Dr. Adam Healey graduated in 2000 with a PhD in inorganic chemistry,
specifically looking at the synthesis and characterisation of high capacity
ion exchange materials. Having studied chemistry at the university as an
undergraduate, Adam resolved to ensure that the experience of three
more years at university were not wasted, which is reflected in his own
advice for current research students: "Do all the things that you would
have done as an undergrad if you had time to stop and think. Work hard,
play hard and enjoy. It will be gone before you know it and you will never
have another 3 years like it in your life."
Indeed, Adam's main memories of his time at Southampton are primarily
focused on his extra-curricular experiences: "I enjoyed working with the
team, having another three years at uni which I enjoyed a lot more than
the first three, socialising, playing basketball and going out hill walking
with the AU clubs that I was part of. I specifically enjoyed the post
graduate rep role that I played on the AU committee and the Vice
Chancellors Award I got for that."
