ANNOUNCEMENTS
· The Council on Educational Policy (CEP) voted to drop the College of Engineering VLPA/I&S graduation
requirement. The current requirement exceeds ABET's requirements. The CoE will abide by the UW
requirement of 20 credits (10 credits each). The engineering departments can require the number of credits
needed for their program as long as they are at least the UW minimum. Bioengineering, Chemical
Engineering, and maybe Computer Engineering are interested in reducing their VLPA/I&S requirements.
According to the College By-laws, a college-wide faculty vote might be necessary.
· Dean Matt O'Donnell has a $300,000+ RFP available for academic initiatives.
REVISED PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Revisions for AA, CEE, and IE were reviewed. Suggestions were made to make the objectives simple, direct and
confident. Revisions can be sent to Pat Daniels for her review. Departments need to update their web pages and the
UW general catalog by April 2008.
DUE PROCESS RESPONSES
ABET should be sending the College a Draft Statement in February or March 2008. Pat Daniels, our 2006 mock
