Mavis Matheson I am a retired physician.

Summary: Mavis Matheson
I am a retired physician.
I do independent medical research, do
surveys and provide information for
the Canadian Medical Asssociation and
review information for the University
of Saskatchewan Continuing Medical
Education Website.
I was born and raised in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. I went
to school at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon
where I earned BSc (honours) in Mathematics. I moved
to Vancouver and took one year of Education at UBC
to qualify to teach high school mathematics. I taught
mathematics and computer science and after five years
of teaching, I returned to UBC for Medical School. Four
years later, I received my MD from UBC. I came home to
Saskatchewan to intern in Regina.
Mathematics keeps my mind active and engaged even though my body
needs a wheel chair to get around and a machine to breathe at night.
