The Center for Leadership and Fraternity & Sorority Life Hosts Alternative Break
The Center for Leadership and Fraternity & Sorority Life develops students into ethical and
purpose-based leaders by providing meaningful learning and involvement experiences.
Through leadership development programs, fraternities and sororities, and service
opportunities, the Center guides students in development of the self-awareness and critical
thinking necessary to enhance individual, organizational, and community growth. The Center
values integrity, inclusivity, and collaboration as guiding principles for effective leadership.
May 23-27, 2011 CLFSL will host Alternative Break with Habitat for Humanity in North
Houston. Students will be doing some "deconstruction" work, some building, and
volunteering one day in the resale shop. This will be an opportunity for students to learn
more about the Houston community and the needs of the people in the community. There is
limited space available to participate in the project that will fully immerse students in the
service learning experience.
