Summary: Heather Black, Sc'80 honoured by the Queen's
University Alumni Association with
Herbert J. Hamilton Award
Heather Black, Sc'80, will be honoured by the Queen's University Alumni Association. Heather
will receive the Herbert J. Hamilton Award on Saturday, October 15th at the Gala Awards
Dinner in Kingston. The event will be held in Grant Hall as a part of the 2011 Alumni Volunteer
Summit, presented by the QUAA.
The Herbert J. Hamilton is presented annually in recognition of substantial contributions or
special service by alumni to the Queen's University Alumni Association. The intention of the
award is to recognize those who significantly improve the QUAA through work at the national
or branch level.
Heather has been an active volunteer with the organization for the past decade. In 2009, she
became the President of the Alumni Association. Through Heather's services as President, she
helped the organization with its mandate to connect the national and global network of
Queen's alumni. Her commitment to the QUAA is an inspiring example of ambassadorship.
Heather lives in Toronto and works with Scotiabank, where she serves as a Vice-President in the
International Banking division.
