2 THE CITIZEN
s Dean of the School of Public and International Affairs, I continue to
be proud of the achievements of our students, graduates, faculty and
programs. Since the last issue of The Citizen, there have been several
achievements that illustrate the continued excellence of our School.
Last fall, two of our Department of International Affairs' students were
selected as 2008 Rhodes Scholars, making the University of Georgia the only
public university in the nation this year with two Rhodes Scholars. You will
find more about these remarkable individuals
on page five.
While the caliber of our student body
continues to be impressive, the accomplishments
of our faculty are no less impressive. This spring,
Christopher S. Allen, Associate Professor of
International Affairs, became the 5th School of
Public and International Affairs faculty member
to be designated as a Josiah Meigs Distinguished
