Division of Student Affairs Spotlight: Lawrence Daniel
Lawrence Daniel joined the University Centers team in December 2008 as an Associate Director. He
previously worked for the University of Houston Athletics Department. During his three and half
years there, he worked his way from Graduate Assistant to serve as their Director of Marketing and
Promotions. Lawrence, a Southern California native, received his Masters of Education Degree in
Education with an emphasis in Sports Administration from the University of Houston, and earned his
Bachelors of Arts Degree in Political Science from Southern University, located in Baton Rouge,
Louisiana.
In fall 2010, he transitioned into Director for UC Marketing Communications and Retail. Lawrence
is responsible for working with the different units of the University Centers to manage marketing,
electronic communication, programming and retail services as well as assisting with the
implementation of new Division of Student Affairs (DSA) marketing initiatives as part of his role as
chair of the DSA Marketing and Communications committee.
Lawrence looks forward to helping expand awareness about programs and resources offered by the
University Centers and within the Division of Student. He is excited about continuing to support the
current progress and execution of all University Centers programs, while contributing to the
enhancement of the college union experience for the entire campus community.
In his spare time, Lawrence enjoys spending time with his wife Candace, and daughter Drew. His
leisure activities include attending sporting events, and traveling.
