CALCULATOR/TECHNOLOGY POLICY: (i) Any calculator is permitted on an exam, but I draw the line at
laptops---these are forbidden. Also *all* other electronic devices are banned from exams---any such items you bring
to the exam you have to stow, turned off, under your seat out of easy reach. (ii) On exams I require you to have a
calculator capable of basic matrix operations (determinants, reduced row echelon form, matrix addition and
multiplication, eigenvalues, eigenvectors). Most of the recent graphing calculators have such matrix capabilities.
Read your instruction manual to make sure. Don't buy any calculator until you're sure it has the needed matrix
capabilities.
MAKE-UPS: Exam absences due to recognized University-related activities, religious holidays, verifiable illness,
