Graduate Scholarships and Awards Are you missing out?
There are many funding opportunities available for graduate students. All graduate student scholarship
opportunities are listed at www.uregina.ca/gradstudies/scholarships.
Funding provided through the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (FGSR)
The Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research provides many opportunities for funding for graduate
students. All FGSR scholarships, research awards, special awards, and graduate teaching assistantship
positions are governed by Terms of Reference (TORs) that are available on the FGSR web-site.
Scholarships and Research Awards: There are two major competitions in the academic calendar
year: for the fall and winter semesters the deadline if June 15th
and for the spring/summer semester the
deadline is February 28th
. This is the date by which the applications must be submitted to your academic
unit. Each academic unit is given an allocation based largely upon the enrolments. The academic unit
then makes recommendations to the FGSR who reviews the application forms for eligibility and sends out
the letters to students. It is important to remember that this is a competition and that there are more
applicants than scholarships.
Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTA): The GTA is available for the Fall and Winter semesters.
