$EVWUDFW - This paper compares different schemes
that can be used to improve the performance of
CDMA in wireless data systems. In particular, we
consider a closed-loop power control scheme and
an adaptive coding scheme. The comparison
between these different techniques is performed in
terms of mean transmission time and energy
efficiency. Our aim is to show that an adaptive
coding scheme can allow a good performance with
respect to typical power control techniques.
