Summary: News & Notes November 12, 2007
Nancy Weems was the featured guest artist at the
recent Utah Music Teachers Association. Ms.
Weems performed in recital, gave two lectures,
presented a collegiate master class, and judged the
MTNA Performance Competitions for the state of
Utah.
Jessica Zhu was the first place winner in the
Music Teachers National Association Young
Artist Performance Competition (state level) held
at Sam Houston State University on November
4th. Stephanie Chan was the alternate winner in
the competition. Both students study with Nancy
Weems.
Paul Sikes, DMA Music Education, has been
nominated for the K. Patricia Cross Future Leader
Award. This national award recognizes graduate
students who are committed to developing
academic and civic responsibility in themselves
and others, and who show exemplary promise as
