Summary: Readmission from Academic Suspension
Students placed on academic suspension by the College of Architecture must meet with the Assistant Dean (or
Associate Dean in the Assistant Dean's absence) to be considered for readmission.
Readmission meetings must be scheduled through the college's Student Services Office before the start of the
intended semester of readmission. Call 713-743-3463 to schedule an appointment.
Students should also consult the dates below for readmission deadlines for each semester. The College of
Architecture will not readmit students for summer semesters.
Students who have been placed on academic suspension and have "sat out" for 13 months or longer must
reapply to the University of Houston through www.applytexas.org.
All students, regardless of their sit-out time must follow the college procedures outlined below.
1. Readmission from academic suspension is neither automatic nor guaranteed. Students seeking readmission
must submit to the appropriate administrative official of the college in which they wish to earn their degrees:
a. A Statement of Preparedness justifying their readiness to resume their studies at the university.
b. Transcripts showing at least a 2.00 grade point average on all college work completed elsewhere
while on academic suspension from the University of Houston.
c. Transcripts of all other completed college work.
** Students who do not have the documents outlined above should reschedule the readmission meeting
for a time when the documents are available for review.
2. Students seeking to change their majors from the college from which they were suspended to another
college must submit a "change of major" request along with a petition for readmission from academic suspen-
