Abstract. This work is concerned with the construction of eective boundary conditions
or wall laws for unsteady incompressible Navier-Stokes equations over rough domains con-
taining periodic roughness elements. First and second order unsteady wall laws are pro-
posed using two scale asymptotic techniques wherein the rough interface is replaced by an
homogenized surface. The in
