An algorithm for the labeling of image points, which are
projected from 3D coplanar grid points with arbitrary
orientation on the image, is proposed in this paper. Such
grid points can be abstracted from space points on a lot
of real objects or found in parts of real scenery. The so
called 2D labeling is performed along the two directions
according to the orientation of the global distribution
of the feature points on the image. The orientation is
strongly influenced by the perspective transformation,
in which the position and angles between the camera and
object play an important role. To determine the orien­
tation of a grid, angles formed by two points among the
grid are defined as uni­angle and co­angle. Then these
