Summary: UH Student checklist for Federal Direct Loans
In order to receive a Direct Loan disbursement* from UH, please review the following checklist:
Apply for financial aid using the FAFSA
Complete an Entrance Counseling Session at www.studentloans.gov
Complete a master promissory note at www.studentloans.gov
o You will need the following information to complete this requirement:
Your Department of Education PIN number
Your social security number
Your date of birth
Your driver's license number (if applicable)
Two personal references (full name, address, and telephone numbers)
Be enrolled at least halftime at the time of disbursement
Be meeting all Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements
Once you are notified via email, accept any loan awards offered to you at
http://my.uh.edu
*All financial aid funds will not disburse until the first day of class, including Direct Loans.
