Summary: Due by September 28th
2010!
We are looking for motivated students to become leaders for Outdoor Pursuits and Johns Hopkins Outdoors Club. Don't
consider yourself outdoorsy? OP and JHOC will teach you the skills you need to be competent in the outdoors. Our priorities
are to find people who are excited about working with others and learning and teaching new skills, and who can bring a wide
variety of experiences and backgrounds to each program. Both outdoor groups offer leaders the opportunity to lead trips
throughout the school year and apply to become a Pre-Orientation leader. The more our Pre-Orientation leaders
represent the Hopkins campus, the more accurate an impression the incoming freshman will receive. Listed below is a brief
description of each group and the different trips you can lead throughout the school year. If you have questions please
e-mail op@jhu.edu and they will direct you to the appropriate person.

Johns Hopkins Outdoor Club (JHOC)
The Johns Hopkins Outdoor Club was founded in the early 70's and has been going on outdoor trips since then. JHOC is
a little bit more of a time commitment than OP (meetings once week during the semester), but the benefits are that you
get to hang out with a great group of people and have all of your trainings paid for (a savings of $700-$850 depending on
the specialty). JHOC leaders are not paid for leading JHOC trips or leadership positions. JHOC leads outdoor trips as well
