Rachel Mielke Speaker
As Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Hillberg & Berk, Canada's
premier designer jewellery line, Rachel Mielke espouses a twofold vision
for her rapidly growing company: to provide timeless, investment
worthy jewellery and to use her success as a platform to improve
communities and empower women the world over. At just 31, she has
made notable achievements on both fronts.
With a degree in Business Administration and a homegrown
entrepreneurial spirit, Mielke founded Urban Pearl Accessories in 2004.
After an encouraging appearance at a local trade show she turned her
hobby into a lucrative solo business. In 2007, she re-branded and
expanded her company, now affectionately named after her great-
grandmother, Hilda Bergman, and her dog Berkeley.
Another turning point came in 2008 when Rachel was invited to create
pieces for celebrities at both the Gemini Awards and an Oscar gifting
