HEALTH AND BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES BUILDING (Optometry)
Houston, Texas, June 13, 2011 Major progress is being made on the Health and Biomedical
Sciences Building. The next major step in the process is a concrete pour of a slab and
associated work that will connect the new and old buildings. Therefore, it will be necessary for
the contractors to temporarily close the area on the Calhoun side of the building, which is now
being used to access the front door entry to the University Eye Institute lobby.
Effective Saturday, June 25th
, 2011, the entry to Optometry will be through:
· Existing fire door which is in the staircase in the Family Practice Service and which
opens onto Calhoun. A new sidewalk will be built to allow students, faculty and staff to
use this door when entering and exiting the building.
· Double glass doors located near the maintenance trailer.
