Israeli Science Communication Conference
at The Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities
Mass media is the general public's primary source of information about science
and technology. Recognizing the importance of how science is represented in
the media and public discourse, the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities
and the Technion Israel Institute of Technology, as well as other organizations,
initiated a series of conferences on the subject.
The annual Israel Science Communication Conference explores the role of
science in Israeli public discourse. The conference brings together scientists,
media researchers, journalists, editors, spokespeople, formal and informal
science educators and others who care about the field of Science
Communication, with the goal of creating a community of activists and
researchers. The third annual conference will focus on mass media and the new
media. Communication researchers, scientist and journalists will delve into the
Israeli aspects of Science Communication and its unique challenges.
