ABET Interim Visit on November 15-16, 2009
ABET visitors were going to be the Team Chair, a PEV, and a State Observer. As of October
29th
, the PEV, Keith Dunbar will not be visiting the UW. Thomas Jewell, our ABET Team
Chair, will be conducting the whole visit. Thomas is an ASCE PEV with over 20 years of
experience and lots of tier 1 schools. Keith Dunbar has finished a preliminary evaluation and
draft report which will facilitate Thomas' review.
Thomas Jewell has offered to meet with the program contacts for the four reporting programs
(AA, BIOEN, EE, and ISE) during his visit. He can give them some helpful advice on how
they might prepare for the general review in 2013.
Pat Johnson will work with the departments to add them to the visit schedule. Since CEE is
preparing the PEV's schedule, Pat will work with CEE to incorporate the PEV portion into
Thomas Jewell's schedule.
PEERS Leadership Development to Promote Equity in Engineering Relationships
PEERs is part of an NSF-funded effort to integrate existing NSF programs across the UW
campus. The PEERs seminar this quarter is reading biases regarding underrepresented
